Burton police arrest Michigan Protectors member Bee Sting for felonious assault at Twin Meadows"

"The leader of a group of self-proclaimed superheroes is kicking out one of his members after allegations that a "hero" named Bee Sting pulled a shotgun on a man at a Burton trailer park during a dispute over a loud motorcycle."

Arrested superhero Bee Sting's fiancee: "I'm kind of glad for the mask"

"According to police reports, Besso approached the man in a Burton mobile home park around midnight, telling him his motorcycle was too loud. The confrontation turned physical and, according to police, Besso pulled a gun that was discharged in the scuffle, hitting a nearby mobile home."

Michigan vigilante "BeeSting" arrested at trailer park

"BeeSting faces two felonies: assault and wearing body armor while committing a violent crime. That, however is not the worst of it. Michigan Protectors member Arsunal informs the Free Press that they plan on kicking BeeSting out of the group. Good luck replacing his "[s]ituational awareness, disaster mitigation and disaster scene management[,]" you fools. Who Watches The Watchmen??"

denoting his affiliation and association with "Real Life Super Heroes" belonging to both groups "Rlsh" ("Real Life Super Heroes") and Xalt ("X-Alts", aka "Extreme Altruists"). Each group has hundreds of members and supporters;

This runs up to you in the Dark with a Shotgun. What do you do? What does anyone do?

Shotgun Shells, freely shared and made visible for all his Superhero/Vigilante comrades and associates to see and offer opinions on. Or advice. In the last few days, his friends have been dwindling, and his comments erased. It won't spare the guilty though: Facebook keeps records, even if superheroes are desperately trying to scrub away their participation and encouragement.

Point: He advertised his viewpoints in many places, as well as his methods, weapons, and intent. He's not a "lone" exception. He's listed as both RLSH and Extreme Altruist ("X-Alt"), proudly under their banner.

He's the product of their culture, a direct output of their thinking, their encouragement, and their shared instructions, plans, and motivations.

It's not an indictment of Bee Sting that should be our concern. It's an indictment of the superhero culture of violence, ego, paranoia, and terror, that we should be most concerned about.

But See how superheroes attempt to justify their actions. To make light of a near homicide. To hide from their responsibilities.

The Central Flaw to Real Life Super Heroes

From Source;

This reality is something even the so-called "Real Life Super Heroes" and "X-Alts" have become aware of  - that they're pandering simpletons, who are only motivated by their primary goal of personal fame. Here is how they attempt a simple misdirection;

But of course, they advertise this like there's no tomorrow. "Look at me!" they demand. "I'm so freaking humble" they shout. "Worship me!" they cry, sobbing at their worthlessness.

They seek to spread their filth into Colorado.
http://www.facebook.com/signsofhope2012

As if Colorado - like every other state and city doesn't already have many programs, proven programs, so help people. IF they REALLY wanted to help, they'd volunteer at a Homeless Shelter. Or a Soup Kitchen, or donate to a Food Bank, or Donate to a charity. But there's no Personal Fame in it for them. They have to have their fame, at the expense of helping others.

Real Life Super Heroes are Pathetic.

More Real Life Superheroes Arrested: Bee Sting

Burton police arrest Michigan Protectors member Bee Sting for felonious assault at Twin Meadows

Published: Thursday, April 26, 2012, 4:54 PM     Updated: Thursday, April 26, 2012, 5:37 PM
BURTON, MI -- Burton police arrested a 36-year-old Sterling Heights man known as Bee Sting - a member of the Michigan Protectors group - on felonious assault and possession of body armor while committing a violent felony charges for a Thursday morning incident at Twin Meadows Mobile Home Park.

Handcuffs.jpgView full sizeBurton police arrested a 36-year-old Sterling Heights man known as Bee Sting, a member of the Michigan Protectors group, following a felonious assault at Twin Meadows Mobile Home Park.
Lt. Michael Odette said Bee Sting is part of the Protectors group, which label themselves online as "a group of costumed activists," but owner Bruce Stein denies giving the group permission to act as security at the park off Fenton Road.

Around 12:07 a.m. Thursday, a 38-year-old man was riding into the park with his girlfriend when the pair were approached by Bee Sting because of the volume of the motorcycle.

"Bee Sting approaches the man about how he was driving his motorcycle too loud," said Odette.
The costumed man was equipped with a tactical belt, pepper spray, scissors and handcuffs, and wearing a bullet-proof vest, black leather jacket with a bee logo, shin guards, knee pads, black leather gloves and carrying a shotgun.
A verbal confrontation ensued between the men, Odette said, when "It escalates and the suspect, Mr. Bee Sting, according to our victim points a gun at him."
The victim was able to grab the barrel of the shotgun and point it in an opposite direction, Odette said. One shot was fired and struck a nearby vacant trailer, and police arrived as the men were fighting.
Odette said the department had first heard about the Michigan Protectors group during a rash of arson fires taking place at the park.
"We discouraged him from having these modern-day, self-proclaimed superheroes in the park because of what may happen," he said, stating the department advised Stein to hire a "professional, reputable security company."
Stein said he'd been talking with one person regarding security who may be a part of the group, which was not the man inside the park during the incident.
"Right after they caught the second arsonist, there was just a lot of tension in the park, and I wanted him to see what was going on and what was happening," said Stein. "I did not give permission to the Michigan Protectors to come into the park and do what they were doing last night."
According to the Protectors website, Bee Sting is a combat veteran who after recovering from injuries sustained in Iraq returned home to help others.
The suspect's name has not been released pending his arraignment in Genesee District Court expected tomorrow.

Additional Background information: Interview with Bee Sting

Note; Just as anyone assaulted by a Real Life Superhero is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, Bee Sting is also presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. We are a civilization of Laws and Order. We don't have or need vigilante justice, either towards citizens from superheroes, or citizens to superheroes.

A combat veteran has his weapon taken from him by an unarmed biker? What? Since when exactly, can an unarmed biker, take away a weapon from a soldier? How does that even happen?

What is this now, 3, 4, or 5 such superhero arrests recently? The numbers are escalating.

Opinion: Trayvon Martin, not George Zimmerman, was engaged in self-defense

Editor’s note:
Carolyn Edgar is a lawyer and writer in New York City. She writes about social issues, parenting and relationships on her blog, Carolyn Edgar.  You can follow her on Twitter @carolynedgar.

By Carolyn Edgar, Special to CNN

(CNN) – Imagine the following scenario:
You are a 17-year-old boy in Sanford, Florida. You are visiting your father and his fiancée at your soon-to-be stepmother’s home in a gated community. You decide to make a late-night candy run to your local 7-Eleven. It’s nighttime and drizzling, so you are wearing a hooded sweatshirt. At the store, you buy a package of Skittles and an Arizona Iced Tea, then head back home.

As you are walking home, you notice a man in an SUV following you. The man gets out of the car. He’s a big guy who outweighs you by 100 pounds. He doesn’t identify himself as a police officer – in fact, you don’t know who he is. What should you do next?

According to Florida’s justifiable use of force statute, you have the right to defend yourself. Section 776.012, in relevant part:

“A person is justified in using force, except deadly force, against another when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to defend himself or herself or another against the other’s imminent use of unlawful force.”

George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who gunned down 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in his family’s gated community in Sanford, is relying on Florida’s self-defense statute to escape prosecution. Because Florida’s self-defense law affords immunity from prosecution for those who use justifiable force, Sanford Police Department have determined they have no basis to prosecute Zimmerman.

However, as more facts come to light, it seems that Martin, not Zimmerman, was exercising his statutory right to defend himself against a reasonable apprehension of unlawful force.

Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee has characterized Martin as the aggressor, based on the police department’s investigation. In an interview published by the Miami Herald, Lee asked rhetorically, “If someone asks you, ‘Hey do you live here?’ is it OK for you to jump on them and beat the crap out of somebody?” Lee said.
“It’s not.”

Actually, in Florida, it might be.

Under the same self-defense statute that Zimmerman is relying on to avoid prosecution, Trayvon Martin also had the right to defend himself against a perceived threat of danger. Section 776.013 provides:

“A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.”

Trayvon Martin was a teenaged boy who was walking home from a convenience store. He was not engaged in an unlawful activity. He was in a place where he had a right to be – near the home of his father’s fiancée.

George Zimmerman followed him, even after being told by the 911 dispatcher not to. Zimmerman left his vehicle holding a loaded gun and began pursuing Martin on foot. It is plausible to infer that Zimmerman, not Martin, initiated the attack. The tapes indicate that Zimmerman may have been the aggressor in initiating contact with Martin. Assuming the published reports are true, Martin, not Zimmerman, was exercising his lawful right to “stand his ground and meet force with force” by engaging in an altercation with Zimmerman.

By questioning why Martin didn’t simply stop and answer Zimmerman’s questions, and characterizing Martin as the aggressor, Sanford Police Department Chief Bill Lee Jr. appears to have assessed the Martin case using the standards that apply to law enforcement officers. This is wrong. Martin was under no legal duty to obey or to cooperate with Zimmerman in being questioned, because George Zimmerman is not a law enforcement officer.

Being the local neighborhood watch captain does not elevate him to that status. Nor was Zimmerman asked by any law enforcement officer to assist in detaining Martin – in fact, he was specifically told not to follow Martin. Zimmerman is entitled to none of the presumptions available to law enforcement officers under Florida law. The presumptions of acting in good faith that are afforded to law enforcement officers do not apply to Zimmerman.

If Zimmerman provoked the altercation with Martin, he is not entitled to claim self-defense. Under Section 776.041, use of force is not justifiable under the statute to a person who initially provokes the use of force against himself or herself, unless:

“(a) such force is so great that the person reasonably believes that he or she is in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm and that he or she has exhausted every reasonable means to escape such danger other than the use of force which is likely to cause death or great bodily harm to the assailant; or (b) In good faith, the person withdraws from physical contact with the assailant and indicates clearly to the assailant that he or she desires to withdraw and terminate the use of force, but the assailant continues or resumes the use of force.”

Neither exception applies to Zimmerman. Martin was armed only with a bag of Skittles and a can of Arizona Iced Tea. Zimmerman had a 9mm handgun. The 911 tapes released by the Sanford Police Department feature the chilling sounds of Martin screaming for help in the background – screams that are silenced by a gunshot. Martin’s screams and cries for help indicate that, he was not a threat to Zimmerman when Zimmerman pulled the trigger.

Sanford Police Department officials have said no evidence refutes Zimmerman’s claim that he acted in self-defense, but the 911 tapes released by the Sanford Police Department suggest otherwise. Had Zimmerman withdrawn and waited for the police to handle the situation, as he was advised to do by the 911 dispatcher, Martin would be alive today.

Under Section 776.032 of the Florida Statutes, a person who uses force as permitted by law is immune from criminal prosecution as well as civil action. In reviewing this case to determine whether or not Zimmerman is in fact immune from prosecution, the Florida Attorney General must determine whether or not Zimmerman did in fact use force as permitted by law under Sections 776.012, 776.013, and 776.031.

The attorney general should consider the strong possibility that Zimmerman provoked the attack and that Martin was acting in self-defense – in which case, Zimmerman is not entitled to immunity and may be prosecuted for the death of Trayvon Martin.

The state of Florida owes the Martin family at least an investigation into this question.

The opinions expressed in this commentary are solely those of Carolyn Edgar.

A note to superheroes who want to play batman with guns. [Ref Venus Love (formerly X-Alt, and Superhero] There are all sorts of Justice which may be meted out to someone who makes unlawful assumptions which harm or kill people. Police are protected - they are doing their job, and they are well trained. But superheroes are not. The best of their sorry lot having no more training or education than a "Mall Cop" (security guard) with the overwhelming majority receiving instruction from Silver Appeasers in daily Facebook exhortations and jingoistic pep talks to "go out there and be super",  frightened old men with gun fetishes to "take justice into their own hands", and comic books.

Does anyone else see why superheroes are a bad thing? An unnecessary and curiously perverse children's game gone dangerously wrong? We don't need superheroes - weather in costume or not, patrolling our streets, attempting to enforce their "justice". It's wrong, and increasingly, it's criminal.

Another Partial Shameless Screen Grab ("Screen Claw") from original CNN Source by the author Jeffrey Toobin, CNN Senior Legal Analyst;

Another case under litigation in Florida highlights the effect of the law. In September 2010, David James was playing basketball with his 8-year-old daughter on an outdoor court in Valrico. A boy was skateboarding on the court at the same time, and Trevor Dooley, a man who lived in the area, told the boy he shouldn't be skateboarding there. James stood up for the boy, and he and Dooley had a confrontation.

Dooley was carrying a gun and wound up shooting James dead. Dooley asserted that he felt threatened by James, and has asked that the case be dismissed before trial under the "stand your ground" law. (The judge will soon make a ruling.)

In both of these cases -- in the deaths of both James and Martin -- the legal defense for the shooters appears to rely almost completely on the "stand your ground" law. In the death of David James, prosecutors are doing their best against tough odds. In the death of Trayvon Martin, it's prosecutors who are taking the heat for failing, thus far, to bring any charges against George Zimmerman.

But this outrage, understandable though it is, might be directed somewhere else as well. The Florida legislators who voted for the "stand your ground" law -- and Gov. Jeb Bush, who signed it -- have something to answer for as well.

An aside;

One is heartbroken by this story, all the facts are not yet known, and two things should be understood;

1) There is no presumption of guilt assigned to any party. Justice must take it's course, and it will. We are all lessened by acts like these, our culture, our beliefs and hopes diminished. One feels guilt at reporting it for this purpose, but a greater concern would be that in doing so, someone else might take heed and be more careful. There are "superheroes" being advised by other "superheroes" to carry guns, and that is a gargantuan mistake that will only end in unnecessary bloodshed and sorrow.

2) Sincere regret and condolences to the family of the slain child, and really to us all. We've come so far, but have so far yet to go.
We as a United people, and as a civilization, need to find a better way to resolve disputes than at the ends of guns. Things don't happen in a vacuum. There is a community of people who are responsible for the conditions which lead to this event. They share a measure of guilt, as to a lesser degree do we all.

One sees pictures of the boy, his mother and father, and my heart breaks.

There is no Evil here. There are people, trying to force their good on others. Without law enforcement responsibilities or training.

Just like Real Life Super Heroes.

-Lord Malignance

More Superheroes Thwarted by Law Enforcement

First thing you do, is put on a mask and call yourself a Real Life Super Hero. The second thing you do, is realize the Law doesn't really apply to you anymore. Because you ARE freaking *Batman* (or put in your own RLSH, X-Alt, whatever whackadoo Superhero group name you care to choose).

Then you get caught.

But at lease this Real Life Superhero doesn't want to go out and fight criminals, as so many so-called "Real Life Super Heroes" pretend to. This Pretend Playtime Batman has a noble purpose, to actually help people. He's got a gimmick, and applies himself to living up to an imagined ideal. He's NOT carrying weapons to harm people he suspects might possibly be lawbreakers. Compare and contrast this "Batman" to the violent vigilantes wearing masks and prancing around carrying weapons, looking to street brawl, and calling themselves X-Alts, or RLSH (Real Life Super Heroes).

Or the Real Life Super Heroes carrying guns, playing games of "Stand your Ground". With deadly force.

The world doesn't need idiots in costumes, playing law enforcement. It never has, and never will. Wear a Halloween costume (Kettle/pot= black), and Know Your Role. You are entertainment. That's all.
