A movie about people putting on costumes and fighting crime came out. It was called "Kick Ass". A little later, another movie came out, extolling the Awesomeness of being a Villain. It was called "Despicable Me", and is still in the theatres, delighting millions. A contest of philosophies you think?
But no, it has been no contest. For Villainy Rules, and superheroes suck.

Villainy is always going to be cooler than heroism, it's just the truth. As many layers of fucked up emotional damage Batman has, he'll never be as suave and likable as The Joker! The numbers prove it.
ReplyDeleteAfter Kick Ass 2 (Where Villains are predominant), Millar will be working on the upcoming Villain Blockbuster "Nemesis".

The Golden Age of Villainy approaches!
Villainy is awesome. As in Inspiring Awe. The sheer audacity it takes to stand before the world and say "My will rules you" and have it (to a certain extent) be absolutely true is the makings of Epics. That's why the villain is the most important part of a movie. They bring the grandiose to the screen. Hmmm, I think I have a topic for my next show...
ReplyDeleteMost holy Lord
ReplyDeletethe unclean demon speaks Your exalted name from its filthy lips on its blog of excrement and promises to bring violence to innocent people
It rages in pitifull impotence like the filthy little animal it is
If You but wish it my Lord Most High above me I shall bring its threats of harm to children to the proper authorities.
Command me Lord and Your will be done always without hesitation or doubt

Computer King,
ReplyDeleteIf we can time it just right, we can emerge as the dominant force in Evil in time for Dr. Horrible 2.
Brick Xemu,
One does not want to believe that Krampus intends to hurt innocent people. No, wait. His blog is full of detailed instructions on how to hurt people. Hopefully, it's only a pitiful cry for attention, and not another mental breakdown.
Better post on this just in case,
