As we embark on the heady voyage of Villainy, it’s often important to reflect on the pioneers of our given vocation. Certainly, fiction provides us many opportunities to appreciate our forbears in fashion, but if you do, you overlook the very real world efforts of Grace Jones, a prodigy in Villain Couture for at least the last 35years. While Heroes are constricted by concerns of “going to far”, Grace shows us that you can really never, ever go to far. For while a Hero must evoke aspiration with his flamboyant demeanor, Grace shows us that Villainy must instead endeavor to inspire fear and a respect for unconventionality.
One therefore presents for your viewing pleasure, a meager offering of some of Ms. Jones most evocative design triumphs. And remember: She doesn’t do this for herself, for Halloween, or celebrity's needs. She does this for Villainy.

Well after establishing her Villainous empire as a Villainess, she took a role as the Henchwoman "May Day" in the James Bond Feature "A View to a Kill". She's always been there for Villains, even taking a smaller role in the movies, than in her real life, so as to show Villains inspiration.
Bravo, Ms. Jones, Bravo.

My word... I shall have to consider myself "one-upped".
ReplyDeletePity about the thumbnail-sized images, though. You can *barely* make out the money signs on the shoulder pads that she stole from an ancient Incan sacrificial altar.
Agent Beryllium,
ReplyDeleteNot at all - the arena of appearance, and the thought process behind this, has never been explored. I like the idea that Grace Jones has been a Villainess in the spotlight for years. I'm sure if she stole the shoulder pads, it was done with all the panache of Villainy.
Thank you,

Lord Malignance, my good sir.
ReplyDeleteThe ROACH board seems a tad quiet, dont you think? Perhaps it's time we took matters into our own hands and get a ROACH forum up and running? I may be able to work some things out with a friend of mine, what say you?
Crimson Nematode,
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing, and then as if the Potentate himself had agents in one of our Malevolent Organizations - a new post appears. And in it, you are mentioned. Two new members too - Baghead and Sinista. The Legions of Evil grow and continue forward. Now I've got to find a way to make a good showing for my Halloweeen Challenge with Master Calamity. The thing is: When you drink too much and post, you don't remember a thing. When you stay up too long, go crazy and post, you remember everything. I'm thinking of finding a hotdog stand and getting my picture taken, buying a dog, or getting beaten by the local police department - they look like they need the exercise...
