Some think that somehow they're unique and have a franchise on what everyone else works at. Poor Batman! Because he can't focus enough to create anything new of his own, all he can do is run his weary gimmick* and try to tear down the work of others. Batman will seemingly never cease to be surprised when his selfish myopia drives people away from him.

*Overall supporter of weary gimmicks everywhere, just making a barb.
