Too Often Unspoken Respect for Villainesses

So much personality in this picture. Funny, Beautiful, and absolutely Evil

So many times it's the male Villains in Villainy that catch the attention or have the fortune of being mentioned for their outsized egos and loud voices.

However it's the Villainesses in Villainy that more often shine in the Darkness.

Grace. Cunning. Diplomacy. Ruthlessness. Courage. Unleashed-Hell-Like-You-Can't-Imagine. Poise. Charm. Strength. Fun. One doesn't know what female superheroes are like, and One doesn't particularly care. Heroes are timid weaklings, afraid of what they can be. But Villainesses are not afraid. They inspire, rule, lead, contribute, and bring a depth and quality to the work of Villainy.

Villains are never shy about acknowledging their strengths, but too often unsaid and under appreciated in the testosterone downpour of posturing, is the work of Villainesses. They may not draw attention to their accomplishments as many times, or as loudly as their male counterparts, but they are feared and respected even more so for their work.

Feared and Respected.

If you were a Villainess or Villain and you were acknowledged as being feared and respected - it would be no less than a sincere recognition from your peers that you are appreciated and valued. One believes One speaks for all Villainy when saying this.

  1. Beautiful image, yes, but she appears to be crawling on all fours....or crouching.

Very enjoyable post Lord Malignance. Villainess, I'm sure you've noticed, is not recognized by spell check as a word. We have a long way to go.

  2. Overlord,

One might instead say she is "sneaking - or stalking" - can't really figure out what her back legs are doing - or in context why she would be sneaking in that manner. Instead it's more evocative as body language, and projected attitude.

One has struggled w/Spell Check on this too. One isn't sure if it IS a word, but has decided to go with it. We should attempt to overthrow spell checker.

Important here is that you are one of three female Villains that One knows of, and one of only two One can appreciate. And the work of you two (Beryllium and yourself) IS appreciated. It always has been, but in the recent influx of new Villains, and Egos being touted (often in loud voices and associated swagger) it is important to not overlook a source of strength in Villainy.

We should have a Villainesses Day in Villainy! But it will only work if there is a plurality of voices. One is a progressive Villain, so if a demand was made for "Mighty Beefcakes in Villainy", One would reluctantly capitulate.

One liked the phrases; "...shine in the darkness" and "downpour of testosterone".

Thank you both for the work you do,
